I learned of the Maggie Goodlander tweet less than 30 minutes before my show yesterday. I have already disassociated from Kauffman, both kicking him out of the Free State Project in 2023, and leaving the organization I’d spent 21 years building, in part, because he was still being indulged and my time is precious.
Since it wasn’t crystal clear from my show, while I don’t think his words rise to the level of an actual crime, they are despicable. And so is he. A really nasty, vile human with a distorted sense of self-importance.
We should judge assholes and narcissists harshly. The way to do deal with clinical narcissists is to IGNORE THEM. JK feeds off attention, so the best way to deal with him is to gray rock and isolate him. He has only a handful of real followers. Most of his “power” comes from your attention. Don’t give it to him.
