NH DOJ to Investigate LPNH for Threats Against Democrats? | The Independents
I learned of the Maggie Goodlander tweet less than 30 minutes before my show yesterday. I have already disassociated from Kauffman, both kicking him out of the Free State Project in 2023, and leaving the organization I’d spent 21 years building, in part, because he was still being indulged and my time is precious.
Since it wasn’t crystal clear from my show, while I don’t think his words rise to the level of an actual crime, they are despicable. And so is he. A really nasty, vile human with a distorted sense of self-importance.
We should judge assholes and narcissists harshly. The way to do deal with clinical narcissists is to IGNORE THEM. JK feeds off attention, so the best way to deal with him is to gray rock and isolate him. He has only a handful of real followers. Most of his “power” comes from your attention. Don’t give it to him.

Jury Nukes NH’s First Deepfake Felony, Laconia Pole Cameras & the Tax Cap | The Independents
Coming to you live from the Free State. On this episode of The Independents, Carla Gericke breaks down a first-of-its-kind New Hampshire case: a jury just acquitted Jaxen Cole of two Class B felony “fraudulent use of deepfakes” charges after he posted a 57-second Valentine’s Day spoof of booking-room bodycam audio. No face. No badge. No department. Caption: “Do you think this officer wants to be my Valentine?” Deliberations took about half an hour.
That is the win. The warning is next door. Laconia City Council just voted 5–1 to take an $86,500 Homeland Security grant for solar-powered pole cameras. Officials say they are not Flock, not cloud-based, and not new — replacements for cameras the city has used for decades. Carla’s argument: even “just cameras” tilt the field when the state records you and then fights your right to record them back. She walks through RSA 91-A questions to file on the grant file, specs, locations, retention, sharing, and who gets to look at the footage.

Also on the table: Thursday’s Ballot Law Commission meeting at the State Archives (Sept. 17, 10 a.m.) and the school property-tax cap that will be on every New Hampshire ballot this November — two years at a time, back again in 2028.
Live Free or Die is not a bumper sticker. It is a workload.

NH Primary, NHExit Now Pledges & Why Your Memory Is the Real Battleground | The Independents
The Independents with Carla Gericke — live from the Free State of New Hampshire!
Tuesday’s primary is in. Lily Tang Williams and Sen. Keith Murphy advance. Carla walks the NHEXIT candidate surveys (~20 back so far), why the study-committee bill is coming back in 2027, and how COVID-era propaganda plus the attention economy wreck memory — and what to do about it.
If you cannot remember what they said in 2021, you cannot tell who is lying now.
In this episode:
NH primary: Lily Tang Williams (~65%), Keith Murphy (~71%), November door-knock ask
The NH split: Republicans in Concord, Democrats in D.C. — and why Carla calls it sus.
NHEXIT mail: five-plank New Hampshire First pledges, names not public yet
Study commission bill: back again until the question is normal.
2021 show vs what we know now (lab leak, PREP Act, EUA, death counts)
Brooklyn-mommy “safe and effective” lockstep.
10 evidence-aligned steps to treat memory as flourishing, not a hack:
- Guard directed attention like a scarce good
- Decide in advance what is worth remembering
- Make it meaningful, then test yourself
- Restore attention in nature, not more feed
- Sleep as if memory depended on it
- Move, preferably outdoors
- Practice gratitude and savoring as ritual
- Use real relationships to encode and retrieve
- Offload trivia; retrieve what you want to own
- Build spacing and stillness into the week

Dolly Parton put $1 million into Vanderbilt’s early Moderna-related research, sang “Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine” to the tune of Jolene, told “cowards” not to be a “chicken squat” — and died at 80 after a brief battle with cancer her team never named.
This episode is not a coroner’s report. It’s about the advice, the playbook, and people on a ship who now say they regret the shot.
Self-ownership is the relationship to yourself. Informed consent is the relationship to everyone else. COVIDmania smashed both: hide the downside, ban the question, mandate the product, zero manufacturer liability — then call it a “choice.”
Also on this show: the Tom Woods cruise, a note from every dinner table (regret vs blame), Fauci-world “delete this, then delete it from trash,” and the old Anheuser-Busch campus in Merrimack sold to United Therapeutics, a company specializing in rare-disease work, xenotransplantation, organ printing. Not a data center. Worth eyeballs.
If you own the body, you own the guess. The state does not live with the side effects. You do.

BONUS! What is xenotransplantation?

Xenotransplantation is putting an organ or tissue from one species into another. In the news it almost always means pig → human.
Not sci-fi printing from scratch. A pig is bred (usually gene-edited so the human immune system is less likely to attack the organ), the kidney or heart is taken out, and surgeons sew it into a person who would otherwise die waiting for a human donor.
Why they want it
Human organs are scarce. Thousands die on waitlists. A pig organ is a proposed spare.
Why it sounds “sus”
- Animal viruses riding along (PERVs — pig viruses)
- Immune rejection, even with edits
- First patients have been last-ditch cases; some lived weeks or months, not a settled spare-parts aisle
- Ethics: breeding animals as organ farms
- “Organ printing” is a different pitch (cells + scaffold in a lab). Companies sometimes sell both stories on one campus.
United Therapeutics angle
They work on lungs/pulmonary disease and have been in the pig-organ / bioengineered-organ lane. Buying a big campus does not mean Merrimack is growing chimeric zombies. It means a firm that wants to industrialize replacement parts now has square footage.
One-line for air
Xeno = animal organ in a human. The bet is pigs. The risk is viruses, rejection, and a factory logic for bodies. Worth watching. Not the same sentence as “they printed a person.”
How the System Captures Your Mind—and How to Take It Back | The Independents
What happens when institutions become more interested in protecting themselves than informing the public?
We begin with the David Morens controversy and troubling questions about government transparency, federally funded research, and the avoidance of public-records laws. But that is only the entry point.
This episode follows the deeper pattern—from institutional self-protection to the gradual displacement of individual judgment by centralized authority. We examine how fear, media incentives, social pressure, and real-time messaging shaped public behavior during the pandemic—and why meaningful consent requires more than simply being told what to do.
Then we turn to the psychological machinery.
The attention economy profits by keeping you reactive: scanning for threats, choosing sides, and defending identities. Even highly intelligent people can become brilliant at arguing one variable while losing sight of individual differences, competing risks, base rates, and second-order consequences.
Reactivity is rewarded. Agency is starved.
Carla Gericke maps the journey from institutional opacity to cognitive capture—and, more importantly, the road back: controlling your inputs, rebuilding an internal locus of control, thinking across multiple variables, and recovering your capacity for informed choice and self-direction.
This isn’t another rant about “them.” It’s an examination of how modern systems engage the human mind—and what it takes to reclaim yours.
Why can Estonia be a country with 1.4 million people—but New Hampshire can’t even discuss becoming one?
Carla Gericke introduces “Make America States Again” and explains why New Hampshire independence deserves serious consideration—not as civil war or chaos, but as a peaceful, democratic response to runaway federal debt, political polarization, and Washington’s repeated failure to reform itself.
She also unveils the NHExit Now candidate pledge, grounded in Article 10 of the New Hampshire Constitution, and asks candidates of every party a simple question: Will you put New Hampshire first and let Granite Staters vote on their own future?
Could an independent New Hampshire actually thrive? Carla examines the state’s energy potential, productive economy, low-tax culture, natural resources, international border, deep-water port, and stubborn Live Free or Die operating system.
This isn’t about fearing the future. It’s about building one.
We’re early—but we’re not wrong.

Anthony Fauci spent years embodying: “I am the Science.”
Today, Fauci became: “I plead the Fifth.”
Carla Gericke of The Independents breaks down today’s explosive Senate hearing, where Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times after Sen. Rand Paul released his pandemic-era “diary.”
Let’s be clear: Fauci has constitutional rights. Everyone does. That is the point.
But constitutional rights do not erase public accountability—and this hearing exposed the operating system in all its grotesque glory.
The man who helped shape policies affecting hundreds of millions of people can refuse every substantive question under oath, while ordinary Americans were fined, fired, censored, deplatformed, separated from dying relatives, and treated like criminals for questioning those same policies.
Democrats called the hearing an attempt to “entrap” Fauci. But what about the Americans entrapped by mandates, emergency powers, shifting rules, and a public-health bureaucracy that demanded obedience while shielding its own decision-making?
From the diary’s public-private contradictions to the spectacular collision between the “I am the Science” persona and the Fifth Amendment, Carla examines what the record actually shows, why the accountability gap exists, and why the court of public opinion may be the only courtroom left.
Watch. Decide for yourself.
BONUS joke: Fauci’s rap name should be “Fifthy Stents.”
