The FDA’s recommended Standard American Diet (SAD) is based on super shady “science.” You should eat very little carbs or sugar, and invert the Food Pyramid if you want to be healthy (high good fats, medium protein, and low carbs). The law of economics says, the more you subsidize something, the more of it you will get. The government subsidizes corn and sugar. Americans suffer from *self-inflicted chronic* metabolic disease at an alarming rate, almost 50% of Americans are obese, and THIS is the advice that is being given? Here’s the reality: The Big Biz/Big Gov cronyism is so corrupt now, it is safe to say, if you want to live a long and healthy life, do the opposite of what these clowns recommend. Whatever you do: Stop the denial; it serves no one, least of all you. Get yourself weighed, get on a decent diet (I recommend paleo/keto), and get yourself well. Please.

QUICK NOTES: They’re experimenting on me at Hereticon! Check out these two images that, apparently, my thoughts made. The instructions were to pick a high or low line and then try to steer your line on the graph. I picked HIGH first, obviously (or rather, obvious to me, as it’s easier to think aspirationally/rising frequency for me). See pictures below.
After that result, I was intrigued enough to do the low too (blue line above). For both, I closed my eyes and steered my mind. Interestingly, where the lines blipped over the control line in the middle-ish is where I thought of a rocket ship launching (high) and a submarine diving (low). I have no idea what this means, but I do believe I can now categorically prove I HAVE A BRAIN! ![]()

PART TWO:
I’m not really sure what I am allowed to say about this conference. Can I brag, and say I sat eight feet away from Peter Thiel in a roped VIP bar inside a bar while listening to a talk on ESP, and wondered why Peter wasn’t picking up on the vibes I was laying down right then and there to become besties?
Can I say I was surprised at the level of “woo”–alien summonings (they didn’t show up, boo!), Tarot card readings (I’d never done one before, was totally unprepared, and ended up bawling like a teenager over childhood crap), brainwave stuff (see above), ESP, black holes, spy-craft, mRNA tech, neural links, etc.–all of which, on some level, struck me as nerds trying to measure or prove the existence of God.
Funny story: After the talk by the brilliant Tim Urban on neural links, I was crossing the 4-lane street back to the hotel, walking with a gentleman who had also attended the talk. We were walking side-by-side, making small talk.
Me: “You know, it’s probably super-weird, but I’m not vaccinated, but I might get a neural link one day, who knows?!?”
Man: “YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED???” Jumps away from me in the middle of the road and, I kid you not, SCURRIES, as in at an alarmed and quick pace, away from me like I am dangerous, dirty vermin. I was so shocked, because here in the Free State of New Hampshire, we understand that, surely, if you chose to get vaccinated, you should not fear the unvaxxed, because… you’re vaccinated… no? 😛
Very booze-y, which was harder for me than I thought it would be. After all, it’s been more than 4 years since I quit alcohol, but it was just prevalent–open bars across the exclusive hotel, great selection of top-shelf full bottles in my room–and I was out of pot and didn’t fly with any, and didn’t feel like the hassle of organizing a hotel delivery, but, luckily, I had packed some micro-doses of ‘shrooms, and that helped take the edge off. Good reminder to make sure I am adequately stocked with the medicines I need when I travel.

I have been traveling and dealing with family issues, so have not written my annual summation of 2021, but we were all there, and we all know it sucked balls. ‘Nuff said.
Followers know I like to pick a “word of the year” to guide my mindfulness and meditations, a sentiment or notion to circle back to on those days when I’ve lost my “oomph” or need a little brain-trick to stay on the path of health and wellness I have chosen for myself. Past words have included “change,” “vibrance,” and last year, “sthira and sukha” (effort and ease).
This year got off to a rough start, with a difficult Christmas holiday spent with my parents. We all got the Vid, and on top of that, Pa was hospitalized due to a sodium imbalance caused by alcoholism; and my mother’s dementia, in addition to the damage she suffered after her stroke decades ago, is now undeniable.
Their medical challenges are at least partially because of habitual daily drinking, and the negative effects I started to notice a few years ago on their minds and moods, was one of the reasons I quit drinking in 2017.
I haven’t really picked a “word of the year” yet, other than having NETWORKING very forward on my mind, but I’m going to write a book about my decision to quit using alcohol, one that will hopefully persuade you to do so too.
I feel grateful that I have grown enough as a writer over the past few years that, instead of having to work on motivating myself to write, I have created sustainable habits–daily journaling, meditation, regular blogging and fresh content–to support the following achievable commitments:
- Three months to write an outline and submit book proposal;
- Network with my fellow author friends and publishing contacts to do a formal book deal;
- Finish the book by the end of year.
I have been practicing behavioral modification for the last couple of years. One of the reframing techniques I use is identifying when I am suffering from cognitive dissonance, which is just a fancy way of saying, “moments when my behavior and my thoughts are not aligned.”
Because I’ve had other careers, including working as in-house counsel at Fortune 500s through the dotcom era, I have always treated my writing as a “hobby” instead of a job. This is the year this changes.
In my quest for clean living, I’m actively seeking natural ways to get more dopamine hits, and the feeling I got when my first book, The Ecstatic Pessimist: Stories of Hope (Mostly) was published, rates right up there on my internal satisfaction scale. It’s a feeling worth chasing! Every time I see my book, I get a little thrill. As I was journaling this morning, I realized I can replicate that feeling more often if I churn out more books. Go me!
Years ago, before I got cancelled for my views on gun control, I worked with locally-known New Hampshire journalist and historian, John Clayton. He said something in a workshop that’s always stuck with me. He sold his first story for a nominal amount when he was still in high school. Fine. But the important part was he told himself he would never publish anything for which he was not remunerated. As I shift more seriously into writing career path, I am going to apply this to my own life going forward.
Of course, I will still blog and write for the sake of communicating important ideas, but I will also seek to monetize my efforts… Which is just my way of saying: writing is no longer a hobby, it is a calling for which I want and deserve to get paid.
I have been slacking on my police accountability work lately, mostly because I have grown very frustrated with how little and slow the progress is, and how little people seem to care. BUT, once in a while, the needle moves in the direction of open and transparent government.
The Laurie’s List was released last week. This is fantastic news for accountable policing! There’s still a lot of work to be done, but it’s always great to see years of work come to fruition.
Last week I said this on Facebook:
Looks like the Laurie’s List of Bad Cops has finally been released–only partially because what else you can you expect from corrupt people? Of course, they have done everything in their power to reduce the number of names on the list since April 2019 when Judge Temple ordered that the list was in the public interest and should be made public, including:
* Rochester’s police chief antics (https://www.nashuatelegraph.com/…/rochester-police…/);
* 28 names being removed the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving (http://indepthnh.org/…/ag-removes-28-names-from-laurie…/);
* Approx. 13 sealed (i.e. “secret”) cases now in NH Courts–secret courts to listen to secret cases about secret bad police, tsk, tsk, tsk. BUT… progress…https://www.wmur.com/…/new-hampshire-police…/38636851https://htv-prod-media.s3.amazonaws.com/…/laurie-list…
I will be doing a show about this topic soon, so stay tuned and remember to SUBSCRIBE to my Odysee channel. Thanks!
Biden’s WH Wishes “Severe Illness and Death” on the Unvaccinated and Their Families
This statement by Jeff Zients, White House Covid Response Coordinator, “For the unvaccinated, you’re looking at a winter of severe illness and death for yourselves, your families and the hospitals you may soon overwhelm,” is a genuine message from the Biden White House.
Regardless of your political beliefs or stance on any of this, you must concede, this is a disgusting message for any administration to share.
Also, may I remind my vaccinated brethren, YOU are likely current “unvaccinated” according to their own metrics, because in order to be deemed “fully vaccinated” you have to be 2 weeks past your last shot (and most people get sick right after their jab), but not before whatever their new “booster” protocol is, so YOU should be equally concerned about this sort of sentiment because THEY MEAN YOU TOO.
ALSO, if you consider that vaccines DO NOT STOP TRANSMISSION and that relying on NATURAL IMMUNITY is a viable medical choice, and that in a free society, every human being has the right to decide for themselves what to get injected with (that’s what INFORMED CONSENT IS), this is simply a DESPICABLE message to share.
I hope the White House retracts this and issues an apology. But am not holding my breath.

Grease a regular microwave safe coffee mug. I used avo spray. Break and lightly beat the egg in a separate bowl, then add all the ingredients in to the mug and mix until smooth. Put in microwave on high for 3 minutes. Remove and tip mug upside down. Should slide right out! Serve with butter while still hot.

I’ve never spoken about this publicly, because I eschew victim mentality and, at the time, nine years ago, I couldn’t really believe it was going down the way it seemed to be–this was before there was a term for getting rid of people in the workplace whose opinions you didn’t like.
I made the post below on Facebook, set to my “friends” originally, except most of my work colleagues were, I thought at the time at least, “my friends.” Soon after this post, the chair of the NH Writers’ Project board took me out to dinner to chastise me, telling me my opinion was not acceptable. Honestly I don’t remember all of the details of what was said, but I do know I was sobbing at the dinner table, so it was definitely unpleasant and belittling.
Soon after, my then boss left NHWP, telling me that everything was set up and that I would be appointed as interim executive director, and then officially promoted when the board approved the appointment at the next meeting. Thinking I had just landed my ultimate dream job–running the NH Writers’ Project, putting on exciting arts events across New Hampshire, including Writers’ Day, our flagship annual event, which in my five years with the organization I had revamped from a money-losing mess into a record-breaking, money-making success–I took a much needed vacation to recharge. While on vacation in Honduras, I was informed they’d hired someone else as the executive director but that I could stay on for the time being in my current part-time role.
Little known fact about me: I got "cancelled" from my most favorite job ever at at NH arts org for this post 9 yrs ago (originally set to pvr). First they gave me a warning, then passed me over for the top job they'd promised me & hired someone else while I was out on vacation… pic.twitter.com/oixx6oTtqX

Now that I understand the socialist playbook is all about silencing people you disagree with instead of debating the actual issues raised, I know I was simply a very early victim of cancel culture. So early, it didn’t even have a name yet!
People who know me know I’m an early adopter of good ideas, which means, like most early adopters, you run the danger of being unpopular until your time comes.
My time will come.
In the meantime, I’m batting pretty well about my predictions for the future, including:
1. NH being the best place to live if you value liberty;
2. Bitcoin and crypto being the best hedge against inflation and money creation;
3. We’d all be better off with less government. Every single one of us;
4. Corona-fascism is real and they are trying to implement a global population/movement control system using vaccine passports as an excuse; and
5. Guns are the only thing making America not look more like Australia or Austria right now. Molon labe.
A friend asked me what my secrets were to my 50 lbs weight loss and other positive lifestyle changes. Here’s my reply:
1. Alcohol: I quit drinking in Dec 2017, and for me, that was a big part of the success story, but mostly bc I was drinking a lot of wine daily, and those calories added up… Also, wasn’t making the best food/life decisions when sauced up.
2. Eating out: I don’t eat out much anymore, and when I do, I usually just get a salad with some kind of protein. Not eating out is mostly bc my home cooked meals are better than 99% of local restaurants, and I’ve gotten REALLY fussy about where my food is sourced. So that’s mostly a personal choice, but I know people who can balance the eating out and keto quite successfully, but you have to be willing to be particular when you place your order (and that’s OK).
3. What’s in the house/microwaving: We did a serious PURGE of our pantry when we switched. Threw out/donated anything that is not supposed to cross our lips. This is an important step. Trust me… My parents came to visit, and my dad put some Pringles in the pantry, and for me, it was like having crack in the house and I ended up eating IT ALL, LOL, and then reminding myself that I can’t have stuff like that around… So my pantry has a million types of NUTS instead.
The crux of my journey–everyone’s is different–but mine was about getting unhealthy ADDICTIONS out of my life. Ones I wasn’t even willing to admit to myself were addictions: Sugar, carbs, alcohol, negative/nihilistic people–I’m working on digital minimalism now (less screen time)…
So to answer your question about “a normal life,” you have to ask yourself what is “normal”? Is society’s definition of “normal” what YOU want, or is what society accepts as “OK” really unhealthy/less than optimal/possibly not what you want or need to be your best YOU? I no longer take my cues from what’s “normal” but rather from: What do **I** want?
I want to be healthy long-term and have an excellent quality of living, which means **I** have to WORK AT IT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE CAN DO IT FOR ME. I want to look my best for my age. I want to EMBODY a life free of as much statism as I can muster, which means eliminating the toxic stuff that is regarded as “normal” in our lives, but that isn’t normal, acceptable, or good for us…
Like the Standard American Diet (SAD!) and the entire middle part of a grocery store…
The other major change I made is getting enough sleep–we read in bed and are asleep by 10pm, and up around 5am.
Three books I found inspiring: This Naked Mind; Girl, Wash Your Face; and Bright Line Eating.
But, I’ll tell you the secret of my success: STICKING TO THE PROGRAM.
When I stopped making exceptions, and stopped “negotiating” with myself (which created a lot of cyclical/negative mind-talk) and just DID THE RIGHT THINGS, it became EASY. THAT’S how you form new and better habits. (I even stopped biting my nails–after 45 years!)
Now, getting to a place where you can do that, isn’t so easy, but those three books will lead you in the right direction. The other thing is once you get your hormones/sugar levels in balance and are eating right, you genuinely don’t get hungry/cravings anymore, and it all gets pretty awesome, easy and ends up simply being how you live and are.
In other words: *YOU* CONTROL HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE AND IT IS A DAILY CHOICE, SO CHOOSE WISELY.
Keep me posted and GOOD LUCK! I’m proof positive it works!
I wrote this statement, “Not being scared IS being healthy” on my office white board in March 2020. Words I live by, and I hope you find solace in them too.
Mindset has a massive influence on every aspect of your life, including the choices you make to fuel your body and mind, which then directly influence your health. The healthier your choices become, the easier it is to stay on the path because health becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy (of YOUR MAKING).
Healthier choices include: eliminate processed foods; stop drinking sodas even sugar-free; eat low carb, medium protein, high good fats; walk outside for 10-30 mins a day.
And, SWITCH OFF THE LEGACY NEWS. It is literally designed to make you fearful and controllable.
Remember, the Control Freaks want you afraid, unwell, and supplicant, and are supporting legacy systems that make and keep you tethered to their toxic world. Break free and thrive!
